Hello everybody!
I have a problem with the "network management" tool. I want to give my computer an static IP adress plus a default gateway and an dns server.
In a terminal it works with:
sudo ifconfig eth0 XXX.YYY.ZZZ.120 netmask 255.255.255.128
sudo route add default gw XXX.YYY.ZZZ.1
sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf
and adding
nameserver XXX.YYY.WWW.150

How it is possible to create a profile for Network Management?
When try to create a profile I am not sure what to insert into "netmask prefix"?
When I insert 255.255.255.128 into the field, say ok and close and open the window again. it is set to 0.

I am using Kubuntu 9.04 and i have ask also in a kubuntu forum, but nobody could help me.
Thanks for answering!

It may not yet be possible to use Static IP addresses with the Network Management plasmoid. I would recommend using the Unstable Network Management plasmoid in order to achieve the best chance of success.

Alternately, you could switch to a different Network Manager such as Wicd.

(IP) Prefix is CIDR notation for a netmask. A netmask of 255.255.255.128 translates to a prefix of 25. I've been able to use static IPs in the Network Manager plasmoid as of version 1:0.7. It works when I configured it to Connect automatically.
