KNetworkManager & Konqueror

Sun Oct 12, 2008 6:05 pm
Hello everybody.

Anyone know how to activate navigation if knetworkmanager isn't working with wireless adapter? Sometimes when try to connect to wireless using knetworkmanager, it's fail, but then I open a konsole and make the connection with iwconfig and dhclient, then i can ping-ing but navigate is impossible.

As you mentioned konqueror, i assume that with "navigating" you're refering to browsing website ore something like that?
Do you have connection problems with other applications like Firefox or kmail when that occurs?

That's interesting. Konqueror doesn't have a "work offline" feature. When i used to use firefox and networkmanager couldn't do dialup, i ended up using KInternet. once connected all i had to do was switch it out of "offline mode". However ( kde3 at this point ) i always remember konq being unaffected by network manager. Which version of KDE do you run?

If you see the bottom rigth corner ofo konqueror, there is a connector symbol that represent "no connection" and there is no way to navigate.
Using KDE 3.9.x

If you go: Tools -> HTML Settings -> Cache Policy there's an Offline Browsing Mode button. Would that be the "work offline" feature?
