Changing context-menu and toolbars?

Sun Jun 07, 2009 12:48 pm
Hi,
I wanted to know if it is possible without compiling to manipulate the toolbars and context-menus of Konqueror. Of course I know that is possible to add/remove icons from a toolbar via gui. But some options are only present in one of the toolbar and you can not move them between toolbars. Also I would like to add functionality to the context-menu like "unclose-tab" and "open in firefox". So I wonder if this is possible via manipulation of configs or files and which files this might be.

Unless the functionality is already built in then you cannot add it, however you can copy elements between toolbars and context-menus by altering Konqueror's various XMLGUI ( named *ui.rc ) files. You may need to add Firefox to the association for HTML, or HTTP traffic, since I have both it and Opera present in the File menu in Konqueror on my system.
