In Dolphin there is a nice effect where you drag tabs, allowing you to change the tab order very easily. I can't seem to do this in konqueror, dragging a tab always seems to get me a cursor with a "+" symbol and all it seems to do is overwrite whatever tab I drop it on. Is there a way to use drag and drop to reorder tabs in konqueror?

Drag with the middle button (and yes, I would never have guessed this, either ). IIRC, the issue was brought up recently and the much more sensible behaviour of having Dolphin-style dragging suggested, but I don't know what became of it.

Hmmm that doesn't work for me... Isn't the middle button usually the scroll wheel?

That seems to work, although not very well (it is hard to get the tab to go where I want). It also doesn't seem to have the same effects dolphin's tabs have (although that is not as important).
