i have real problem with my network. If I start a ftp connection(any client) it takes up every single bit of bandwidth and in worse case apps like kopete starts to timeout. I use debian (testing) kde4.2.4

This sounds like a serious bug in libftp, if it affects all clients including the command line "ftp" client.
However, depending on the client in use, they may have downloads queued which they are resuming.

It does seem that Im the only one with this problem. im afraid its something left from 3.5. and yes I have tied command ftp too, tied them all, you can say "if I can take it all, do it" and leave 10b/s everybody else. Why I suspect kde4 have something to do with it is becourse 3.5 work really well. but most important i like to solve it. Im totally clueless right now, even where to begin my search =
