Hi! I have a problem using the gadu-gadu protocol on Kopete. It seems to connect without any errors, but it doesn't receive my contact list from the server. When I right-click on the account, there's a pop-up menu that includes "Export Contacts to Server", but there's no "Import Contacts from Server" option. Is it a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Here's what the menu looks like:

I believe Kopete automatically downloads all contacts present on the server. I do not know what Export contacts to server would do exactly, since in most cases the contacts are synchronized to the server as changes are made.

Which version of KDE are you using? Recently the Yahoo protocol stopped working for all releases before 4.3 due to changes by Yahoo which removed support for "older" clients.

I'm using KDE 4.3.1. For some reason, in most gadu-gadu programs, you need to manually export and import contacts to/from server, because the programs don't do it automatically.

Please file a bug at bugs.kde.org if one has not been filed already.

No need to file a bug report. There will be fixes for this stuff going into Kopete by the end of the week. You may still need to import and export your contacts manually, but the functionality will be greatly improved. KDE 4.4 only right now though, due to the new strings.

Somebody has contributed a ton of fixes to contact list handling in the Gadu Gadu support and so the issue you're seeing is likely fixed. The fixes will be released with KDE 4.4 as the amount of changes involved is too big to reliably port back to KDE 4.3.x and continue to keep it working.
