Hi,
The kio_ftp is asking for the password everytime it connects, even though I saved the password in kwallet. Everytime I connect with dolphin to ftp://user@server a authentication-dialog is shown with the username and the saved password filled in, so I just have to press Enter or click on the Ok-Button. But if you use this for a network-based calendar or addressbook in Kontact the authentication-dialog showing up every few minutes is very annoying. Is this a bug, is this wanted by the developers or do I have to configure something? I hope you could help me Greets |

I'm also having this issue and it's really annoying. It makes working with FTP in KDE really clumsy. Please keep alive the connection instead of let it time out so users have to reconnect. And also, provide an option to log in automatically.

When connecting to a FileZilla server, I see in the logs that kio_ftp makes a lot of connections at the same time and the server is refusing more connections. Couldn't that be the reason?

That is likely the reason. This is likely due to the behaviour of KIO as it does multiple things for each file, causing multiple connections.
