Has anyone seen this problem? I am trying to take control of a second KDE machine that is and they are both the same version, the screen is blurry and I cannot seem to get the mouse to respond in the second machine. let me know if you have fixed this. Please know I am new to Linux and don't know the command line very well at all yet.
I had posted this on the Kubuntu forums and have a photo attatched there that you can see. http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.p ... =3106455.0 This same issue appeared when trying Kubuntu, standard release, Alpha 5 and on my current which is Mint KDE Thanks, William |

Can you please post a copy of the image on a site such as omploader please? It appears that the Kubuntu forums require registration to access attachments.

If the second machine has desktop effects enabled, please disable them.

It is likely an issue on the machine you are connecting to in this case. Can you please try using an alternative style such as Plastique? this can be configured in System Settings > Appearance > Style.

Can you try using a seperate VNC server on the same machine?

How would I do that? Please remember I am somewhat new to Linux and do not know the command line to well.
Do you think that it may be a NIC Driver? I tried anouther NIC card last night but linux wouldn't work with it. It would just keep saying that it couldn't connect so I took it back out and am just using the one I have been using. |

The NIC is likely unrelated. Please see this guide here - http://www.walkernews.net/2007/07/05/ho ... nc-server/

I tried that but it would not work as kubuntu does not support RPM packages, however I did end up switching to a new motherboard and a installed SUSE on both computers and the blurryness is gone.
However I still dont see my mouse while controlling the other system and to me it is not near as fast as when using windows desktop as there is a definately redrawing of the screen, which i dont know if it is a speed issue or it is a video card issue. What is your thoughts? |

KDE 4 is not optimised for remote usage unfortuately, the screen redrawing problem is probably due to usage of the Oxygen style. Plastique will work better than Oxygen for remote access.

As I mentioned before I switched to SUSE and it was gone, but I think that is because I was using the Open source drivers. Well as soon as I installed the ATI drivers the same thing happened again. The motherboard and video card are different than when I first tried this. Hope this helps..

This is likely to be an incompatibility between the ATI driver and KRDC.
