Hi,
I have a Karmic installation and Kopete has stopped working recently. I have purged and reinstalled but it is still not working; says it is unable to connect to the server This means Kopete cannot reach the instant messaging server or peers. This can be because either your internet access is down or the server is experiencing problems. Try connecting again later. Rich |

If you are using Yahoo, you will need to use an experimental version of Kopete at this time, as Yahoo changed their protocol, breaking compatibility.
For MSN, you need to update to KDE 4.3 or later, as Microsoft also broke their protocol.

Thanks for the reply
This is with MS IM; I am using fully patched Kubuntu Karmic Beta running KDE 4.3.2 and Kopete 0.80.2 Anything else I can look for or do? MSN is the main protocol I use and only Kopete and Pidgin allows me to loginto two accounts simultaneously with just a single interface window. I really dont want to go back to Pidgin; Kopete is so much nicer (although could do with more plugins). R |

You may wish to ensure "libmsn" is at the latest version available.
