Konqueror Adblock questions

Wed Oct 14, 2009 3:31 pm
Hello everyone,

I am trying to out Adblock feature in Konqueror, and I found some issues that puzzle me.

1. Even though I added a filter rule specifying a whole site (as in http://tns.nipa.co.th/*), konqui still shows iframes and loads scripts whose src attribute begins with http://tns.nipa.co.th/.

Does it means that iframes and scripts are not blocked by the filter rules or am I doing it wrong?

2. It does not seem to support element hiding (like Firefox's AdblockPlus), so I try using user-defined stylesheet with "display:none; visibility:hidden" CSS rules.

The problem is, some matching rules (CSS selectors) should be applied only to specific site, not every site. I can't find out how to do that. Any suggestion, or is this just impossible in the current KDE? I thought CSS @namespace rule should have work here, but either I was doing it wrong or it was not what I thought...

Unfortunately I do not know the specifics of how the AdBlocker works unfortunately, but it is probable that it only prohibits popups.
