kio_http absymal cpu-load

Sat Nov 07, 2009 5:22 am
Ever since KDE 4, my network connection is cpu-bound.
Konqueror loads pages slowly, and KGet completely maxes out my cpu.
The higher the transfer speed, the more cpu load. Both processes KGet and kio_http take huge amounts of cpu time during download.

Nobody else seems to suffer from this, what could be the cause?

Which version of KDE 4? KGet in particular has been known to suffer from high CPU usage during high speed transfers, but not kio_http.

So far I had it with all KDE4 versions I used - I'm at 4.3.3 right now.
Could my router be part of the equation?

It is unlikely to be the cause. Can you reproduce under a new user?
