Hi, I'm tried to use krfb/krdc to remotely connect to my laptop at home. The reason I want this is that I have the laptop at an other desk where I also have microcontroller stuff; programmers etc. And I would like to be able to login to that one (same season) and write my code from example an eclipse season from my desktop when I would like to... So, I have got krfb working and all but it's sooo slow... I don't know if I might have missed some setting that makes it slow but all tips are welcome! Or do you think any other application would to this better that krfb/krdc? |

It is recommended to use a different VNC server, especially with KDE 4 as KRFB has some issues.

Okey, are there any pros/cons or perfomance differences between RealVNC, TightVNC and UltraVNC? Or is it just a matter of taste? EDIT: I just tested RealVNC, but that gave me a new season with an xterm window. Sure I can run some X apps from there but I want do be able to login to the same season like in Krfb, is that possible with RealVNC? (the reason is so that I can continue to edit files in eclipse from my other computer without save/close etc and also be able to run the MCU programmer remote from within eclipse) |

I believe there is no difference between them, although the primary difference is that some will support you joining an existant session ( TightVNC? ) whilst others will require a complete new session.
