I am looking for the configuration file of Knode where I can manually specify the identity information for an NNTP account I created. The problem is that every time I try to change any info through the GUI, KNode and the entire Kontact suite crash. I even reported a bug, but since I see nothing of the kind around any forums I checked, and the bug seems unconfirmed, I suspect it might be something in my setup. This is the link https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215879
Either way, I looked into the config files I found, but nothing there suggests any identity options. Perhaps it is in another file, which I cannot locate, so I would greatly appreciate any help with that. I am using KDE 4.3.3 with OpenSUSE 11.2. Thanks in advance for any help! |

The main config file is knoderc, but the app might also be using the emailidentities file
Both in the local KDE directory, e.g. $HOME/.kde/ or $HOME/.kde4 (see kde4-config --prefix) Cheers, _

Thanks for your reply! In fact, it is in neither of these files, but I was able to locate the one. It's in the kde4 directory, then apps, then knode, then there is an nntp.1 directory, and I guess knode creates one such directory for every nntp account. Inside it there is an info file, which has the configuration I was looking for.
Too bad that for some reason knode crashes if I try to edit that information from the GUI... |
