Hi all,

I recently cleaned up a bit the names of my contacts in GMail ("Firstname LASTNAME"), and since then, all the metacontact names of my GTalk friends in kopete have been changed accordingly (it used to be "firstname").

I do prefer having only "firstname" in my kopete's contact list, and I changed back the metacontact's names using the "custom" text field in Kopete's contact properties, "Display name source". Unfortunately, this also change the name of the GMail contact on Google's server !

Do you know a way to define the name of a metacontact which is different from the GMail contact name ?

Kopete 0.80.2
KDE 4.3.2
Kubuntu 9.10

In the "General" tab of the metacontact properties you could use the "Adress book link", and select the "Use adress book name" in the "Display name source" section.

This could probably work, but would imply that the name in my KAddressBook is set of "firstname", whereas I want to have the lastname there.

I would expect the "custom name" of kopete to be kopete-specific, with the option to link the name to other resources, like KAddressBook.
