Greetings!
I have entirely switched now to KDE from gnome and have really been enjoying the new kde4 thus far. Pretty much the only issue that I've run into is regarding Kopete. I am trying to find a way for Kopete to display group-chat topics. Pidgin does this natively and unfortunately chat room topics are pretty important as they are used to convey status updates of projects at work. I've been using pidgin but IMO kopete is soooo much prettier! We set our jabber topics with the "/topic" command and I believe this may have something to do with why kopete can't pick up on it. (Forgive my n00bish-ness, I'm relatively new to Linux but absolutely love it so far.) In my very limited understanding I was wondering if this is considered an IRC command and also if installing this would remedy the situation? http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.ph ... ent=113720 Any advice is appreciated, so I can finally leave pidgin in the dust! Thanks in advance! |

If the chat system uses Jabber, then you may be interested in Psi, which is a Qt application, which will feel more native to KDE than Pidgin.

thanks for the input. i'll give Psi a try today and see how it goes. i realize this was kind of a peculiar question and not likely to be an issue to many users and i appreciate the input.
