I've been using Konqueror as my web browser for years. But in the past couple years, I have found more web sites that I visit simply don't work properly or at all with Konqueror. Offhand, the new LinuxJournal web site, DaniWeb and SourceForge are three major web sites that do not work with Konqueror; Google Maps is another.
I am using KDE 3.5.10 (Debian), but have found that the problem persists with KDE 4.x. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to go about making Konqueror work with jquery? Or is the only solution to dump KDE and use something else? I need tools that work. Konqueror used to work extremely well, but more and more it is not working at all. Thank you! |

Unfortunately Konqueror has a lack of developer-power which as sites move quickly on to more and more javascript based systems, causes Konqueror to not work with these sites.
I would recommend either: 1) Falsifying your User agent as Safari, since Konqueror is much closer to Safari than Firefox or IE. 2) Using a Webkit based browser such as reKonq or Arora 3) Using the Webkit KPart which simply changes Konqueror to use Webkit instead of KHTML.
