Whenever I go to paste text into a web form, the middle-click causes Konqueror to start scrolling the web page and I then have to middle-click a second time somewhere outside the text entry box to turn the scrolling off. Is there some way to disable this annoying scrolling without turning on the "middle click opens URL in selection" option? (That option is equally annoying since if I accidentally middle-click - say while trying to mouse-scroll a long page - the page I'm reading goes away!)
I really just want middle-clicking to have only it's normal function of pasting the currently selected text so that Konqueror behaves like all the other apps on my system. (BTW - I hope I'm not coming across as harsh. I've used Konq for going on 10 years now and love it's features generally - especially the efficient bookmark handling and and fine-grained privacy controls. It beats every other browser I've ever tried on those two counts. The middle-clicking problem is one I've just put up with until today when I finally got curious enough to look into it.) |

KOnqueror > Settings > Web Browsing. Under "Mouse Behaviour" set "middle click opens URLs in selection" to enabled.

Well, yes, but I asked if there was a way to disable scrolling _without_ enabling that option since it also causes problems. I want _neither_ feature to be enabled so that I can use middle-click to paste text without any unwanted side-effects.

Unfortunately I believe this is not possible. You may wish to create a feature request at bugs.kde.org.
