If any of you are familiar with Slackware v13-64 or for that matter Open suse v11.1, can you tell me where the KPPP file is? Been trying to get KPPP to work with both OS, with zero success. I know where it used to be in the old (and very reliable Suse v10.0) but it's "moved" since and I can't find it.
Any and all help would be appreciated. tyc

kppp is a kde3 application according to 11.2; so it will be in the KDE3 repos for openSUSE. I don't know whether Slackware is continuing to support kde3 apps.

Slackware has the kppp included in KDE 4.2.4 in Slackware 13.0 and the one in 4.3.5 in its -current branch. Its part of the kdenetwork module.

It's probably somewhere, "buried" in one of the ".kde4" subdirectories now but which one, at present, I just don't know. For what it's worth, am having the same trouble with this very same problem when installing Open Suse v11.1 - the excact, identical, same problem. ... annoying, very, very annoying. Thanks for the comeback, it's appreciated. tyc

I think I understand what you've said here but I don't understand all of it. If you're operating KDE with Slackware v13-64, is it working for you? If so, how'd you do it? I've used KPPP successfully with Suse v10.0, for years and have reloaded it many times and I know to go to the primary directly called "/opt", then to the sub-directory called "/bin" and apply "chmod +s" to the file ... but in this Slackware, with KDE4, things have been "moved" and it's really annoying, very annoying. Think you can help with this? By the way, thanks for the comeback. It's appreciated. tyc

... wait a minute ... I just got that ... in the - kde3 - as opposed to one of the kde4 subdirectories. I'll have to check that. Again, thanks. tyc

Not just the subdirectories, also the repositories; go to http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Repositories and scroll down to find the KDE3 repositories for 11.1

Did that, and thanks for the tip but I didn't see anything in the v11.1 reository list regarding kde3, save for the first batch of files and of these, nothing regarding KPPP. Thanks for the interest, thought I was onto something there but no luck today. tyc

Have you tried Software Management or Webpin if that is in 11,1? I've just done a search on kppp in webpin on 11.2 and it popped up straight away.

I'll try it ... has to be somewhere and as I've elected to use KDE, it's got to be there - somewhere ... Again - thanks. It's appreciated. tyc
