In knetworkmanager I've set each respective connection to automatically connect to the network and I've stored the necessary passwords in kwallet. Currently, however, when I start my computer knetworkmanager is able to detect the network, but it does NOT connect to the network. In order to connect I have to:

  • kill knetworkmanager (from cmd line)
  • start knetworkmanagear (from cmd line)
  • re-enter my password for kwallet

Anyone why knetworkmanager is not able to automatically connect?

In my experience I have found that the auto-connect option doesn't work, and causes KNetworkManager to become unresponsive. Can you please file a bug at bugs.kde.org?

I have been totally unable to configure Wireless Connections with KdeNetworkManager. Instead I have to login to Gnome, configure the network, and then return to KDE where it now works. Also I have no experience with kwallet, which the above responder mentions; possibly I should be doing something there.
