Kopete can't stop sending custom emoticons

Hi.

I'm new to KDE and Kopete. I hate customized emoticons, like the ones from KDE. I would love to deactivate emoticons at all and only appear what I really write when I make ":P".

So I went to Settings -> Configure -> Chat Window -> Emoticons and disabled the use of emoticons.

But now I just found out that although I'm not seeing them, my conversational partners are. Which would be normal, if they were seeing the usual MSN emoticons, but no, they are seeing the customized KDE emoticons, despite the fact that I disabled them!

Why is this happening? I didn't even know it was possible to change the way default emoticons like :) or :P would appear on another person's computer...

Can you help me on this one?

Thanks in advance.
