Hello,
I have a new laptop with Sabayon Linux 5.3 (Gentoo) with KDE 4.4.4
I posted my problem here:
http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=20853

I also have an old Toshiba laptop with older KDE and I can connect to my wireless network without any problems.

On my new Acer laptop I can see my wireless networks, so I think the device driver is ok, I use exactly the same connection details and I still cannot get my wireless network connected.

This is my device:
Code: Select all
Richlion2 ~ # lspci
07:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5764M Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10)

How can I debug this? Is there any problem in KDE 4.4.4?

Regards,
Richard

Can you please run "knetworkmanager" from Konsole and post the output? Make sure that it isn't running first however, by running "killall knetworkmanager"

Thanks for responding so quickly. It so happens my wireless is now working :) , I don't know why it didn't work up till now.
The first thing I did was connected the Ethernet cable, then I disconnected it and my wireless connection started working. But I don't think the Ethernet connection made the wireless working.

So KDE 4.4.1 is ok. I will update my system and check if it works with KDE 4.4.4.

Sorry for the trouble...
