Hello,
I'm noticing on 4.3.3 that my KDE proxy settings are constantly being lost. Sometimes, my connection settings are reverted to 'Connect directly' and sometimes even the settings in 'Manually specify proxy settings' are completely erased. It varies as to how long it takes for the settings to be reset but it happens quite quickly. On occasion, I will set it in the Konqueror settings and if I close and immediately open the settings again, it will be reset. This will keep happening until I quit Konqueror immediately. I'm not sure, but I wonder if this has something to do with the Konqueror extension KHTML Settings? I say this because on some websites the "proxy" option is checked in the menu and on some websites it is not set (but I've never used KHTML Settings to turn the proxy on or off. Has anyone else had a similar experience? |

Can you reproduce under a new user?

Hi bcooksley,
I played around with a new user and found this: 1. set up proxy in KDE (or Konqueror) settings 2. go to a page, disable proxy from the extensions 3. now proxy is displabed for entire KDE (not the behaviour I expected) 4. without closing Konqueror, set up proxy in KDE (or Konqueror) settings 5. it will not be activated I'm not sure why this was affecting me. I must have in the past clicked the proxy box in Tools>HTML extensions while on a particular website. I presume by visiting that site again, HTML extensions is causing proxies to be disabled. Do you know where I can delete my old extensions settings? I couldn't find them in ~/.kde/share/config or ~/.kde/share/apps. Also it seems like the behaviour in points 4. and 5. above is a bug. |

It appears that this extension is performing the disabling of proxy usage in an incorrect manner, which conflicts with standard KDE management utilities. Please do not use it, and file a bug report at bugs.kde.org.
