Hello,
I got Kubuntu 10.04 (64bit); I have set Firefox as default browser in System Settings / Default Applications and also by typing sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser.

So whenever I clic on a link it is opened by Firefox; so far so good.

BUT I have noticed that, just before the little bumping icon of Firefox appears, for 1 or 2 seconds it appears also the icon of Konqueror and in the bottom panel I can see Konqueror starting minimized for 7 or 8 seconds. But then it disappears.

So how can I definetely get rid of Konqueror as a web browser?

Thanks

In System Settings, Did you select the explicit option that allows you to enter the name of the Web Browser in question? I use this one ( although with Opera ) and I don't see Konqueror start.

Yes, I've done that way; one thing that I've noticed is that
Code: Select all
update-alternatives --config x-www-browser

was still pointing to konqueror. Since it's not KDE related (it's a Debian command, I guess) I think I'll investigate further in that direction.

Thanks btw
