hyves.nl and vkontakte.com are two extremely popular social networking services (in Netherlands and former Soviet states respectively).

Both have related instant messaging services.

Vkontakte uses jabber:
http://vkontakte.ru/help.php?page=jabber

Hyves' service is called hyves kwekker and is jabber-based:
http://trac.hyves-api.nl/wiki/APIChat

Both services are known to work with pidgin, miranda, adium etc...

When I attempt to connect to the Hyves service I keep getting asked for my password, I enter it correctly but it doesn't accept it and asks me again, repeatedly.

When I attempt to connect to Vkontakte, Kopete just says it is connecting for a long time, but does not connect.

I have tried numerous settings for both, including with and without SSL.

The username and server details I used were:
username@vk.com Servers: vk.com and vkmessenger.com
username@hyves.nl OR username@hyves.net Servers: chatslave.hyves.org and chatslave1 to chatslave15.hyves.org

Any ideas what I can do, or is there a problem in the Kopete code?

Thanks

Well, now Vkontakte is connecting successfully :)

I entered my username as: idxxxxxxx@vk.com and stored my password and changed no other settings.

Meanwhile, Hyves is still not connecting, and keeps asking for the password.
However, I've seen these two earlier bugs in Adium and Pidgin, relating to
