Using kde 4.5.1
Group notifications do not work in kopete. I have default settings for incoming messages to flash a taskbar and display a popup. For a specific group I change that and add a sound. However, the sound does not play when I receive a message from that group. Other notification types do not work for that (or any other) group either. Individual notifications do work.
Any help please?

Can anyone confirm this? If so, I will stop trying and will assign individual notifications to all users.

This may be a bug in Kopete... I would recommend filing a bug at bugs.kde.org if you can reproduce under a new user ( make sure to run "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" and logout and in again afterwards after making the needed changes )
