In Conky we can find out which are the active outgoing or incoming connections by using the "tcp_portmon" service. This is very helpful for monitoring the services.
Is there any plasmoid available which does the same in KDE? |

That's Great!! We have a plasmoid already!! Many thanks for the link. But when I tried to install under Kubuntu 10.10 beta/KDE 4.5.1, I got this error message "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable : kdebase-workspace-libs4+5 (>=4:4.3.2)". I tried to install from .deb. |

Not a problem. I was able to install from source. It is working great. Thanks for your help and pointing to the right widget. |

the problem seems to be that kdebase-workspace-libs4+5 when tested during the install does not result in it being greater than 4.3.2 (4.3.2 > 4+5) which is a requirement built into the deb.
you have the following choices: 1) ask the author to change the requirement 2) see if there is a Kubuntu version of the plasmoid 3) compile from source 4) see if there are Kubuntu updates to kde4 (inc a 4.5.1 kdebase-workspace-libs4) |

Hi all. I am the author of Socket Sentry. Yeah, the dependency problem is a known bug that shows up in Kubuntu with KDE 4.5. I'll have a fix in the next release. In the meantime, installing from source is the way to go. Glad you find the Plasmoid useful. |
