Skype - Video not working

Wed Sep 22, 2010 1:16 pm
On Kubuntu 10.10 beta, I have Skype 2.1 beta installed.

When testing the Video under options by clicking on Test button, I can see the flash light of Webcam starts but no video is showing.

Strangely under Kopete or Kamoso video is perfectly working.

I tried
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
but still no success.

Under Gnome the same camera worked perfectly on same version of Skype.

Need help from the community to solve this issue.

Since I posted the video problem, I have installed a fresh copy of Kubuntu and with the new updates, it's working fine again.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Logitech QuickCam Express. I plan to buy one for another of my system.
