Hello
after my notebook shut down (due to low battery) when I was just using Knetworkmanager to add a new W-LAN connection, I can't start Knetworkmanager anymore. Networkmanager works properly, I'm using nm-applet right now. Re-installation of all (K)networkmanager packages via yast didn't help.

Terminal output is:

Code: Select all
knetworkmanager

Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)

QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified

KCrash: Application 'knetworkmanager' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/carsta/.kde4/socket-linux-gddt.site/kdeinit4__0
knetworkmanager(4599): Communication problem with  "knetworkmanager" , it probably crashed.
Error message was:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" : " "The name org.kde.knetworkmanager was not provided by any .service files" "

Code: Select all
cat /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state

[main]
NetworkingEnabled=true
WirelessEnabled=true
WWANEnabled=true

Following the suggestion in another forum, I tried the following commands which did not help either:
sudo rm /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state
sudo /etc/init.d/network restart

Output then was as follows
Code: Select all
Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)

QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified

KCrash: Application 'knetworkmanager' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/carsta/.kde4/socket-linux-gddt.site/kdeinit4__0

Now terminal output is the same as posted on top of the page.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Thanks - problem solved. I assume the file networkmanagementrc was damaged due to the shut down.
