Hi everybody!
I've got a little question for you, kde users I'm using kde 4.5.1 (i upgraded to 4.5.3 just yesterday, to be honest) in a linux mint distribution, and i have a little problem with the wonderful (for me at least) rekonq 0.6.1 . It always starts at the startup, also if i have closed it in the past session (i activated the 'remember last session' option in kde options). I also checked if it's present in Autostart folder...but there isn't! How can i make it stop starting up every single session? Thanks in advance for your precious advices! Renzo |

did you look ~/.config/autostart?
try adding Rekonq to systemsettings -> system administration -> startup & shutdown -> session management -> on login -> apps to be excluded from sessions |

Thank you. First of all, i never noticed that function before, thanks for letting me notice that.
I added rekonq to that list but, strangely, it didn't affect anything...it continued to launch at the start up! very interesting behaviour Maybe it's a rekonq's bug itself so the session manager couldn't affect that.. Thank you anyway. Renzo |

After closing rekonq, check to see if any "rekonq" processes are running in System Activity. If it is, end the rekonq process.

I've already checked it...there are no related processes, at least most of the times (infact, to be precise, a few times happened that it didn't start at the startup). Instead, there always are some kio_http and one kio_file process running, they are for sure related to rekonq because they are listed in the task manager when i write rekonq in the filter name. I'm not such an expert and i don't even know what a kio is...
Thanks Renzo |

KIO is the system which allows KDE applications to access files in a network transparent fashion.
Have you checked in ~/.config/autostart and ~/.kde4/Autostart? Also, check /usr/share/autostart

Already checked, but nothing in it. That's the list of /usr/share/autostart content: kde4-knetworkmanager-autostart.desktop,kmix_autostart.desktop,nepomukserver.desktop,kdropbox.desktop,konqy_preload.desktop,plasma-desktop.desktop,kab2kabc.desktop,kgpg.desktop,korgac.desktop,printer-applet.desktop,kaddressbookmigrator.desktop,klipper.desktop,krunner.desktop,restore_kmix_volumes.desktop.
What about stopping rekonq kio processes before shutting down the system? Thanks Renzo |

The KIO processes shouldn't lead to rekonq being restarted. Is some application trying to open a URL perhaps?
