Thanks.
PS: rdescktop is working without any troubles. No disconnects after login.

You can try using rdesktop command-line program to debug whether problem is in GUI. Note, that KRDC use rdesktop to connect to all RDP hosts, so it cannot work without rdesktop installed on the system.

What do you mean by disconnect? Do you mean that KRDC acts like it disconnected? or does it crash? I'd suggest running "krdc" in Konsole, and examining the output.

KRDC acts like it disconnected. There is some comp, I can connetct to. But I cannot understand the difference. In konsole there is no event messages while disconnecting...

Please run "kdebugdialog", enable all areas, then try running krdc in Konsole. Afterwards, make sure to disable the areas in "kdebugdialog" again, otherwise ~/.xsession-errors will get very large.

Then paste the output from krdc here.

I am sorry. I think there is not kde, but fedora error. After I downgrade to rdesktop-1.6.0-7.fc12.i686.rpm the problem disappeared.

Hi

apparently this is not isolated to Fedora, but have experienced it on other platforms as well with the last one being PCLinuxOS with KDE 4.6.2, QT 4.7 and rdesktop 1.7.0:

You get to the Windows Login Page, but then as soon as you hit enter after entering the username and password you get disconnected.
Using the rdesktop 1.7 from the command line works properly.

So there must be some issue between krdc 4.6.x and rdesktop 1.7

As the original poster I will attempt to install rdesktop 1.6 but thought I would bring it to the attention that it is not isolated to Fedora and more people might have an issue with this.

Here is the output of .xsession-errors and running krdc from the console:

Running rdesktop 1.7 from the command line works fine.

Let me know if there is anything else I can provide to assist in the investigation

Seems like KRDC's connection to rdesktop is being disrupted by this.
Code: Select all
krdc(16282)/krdc (RDP backend) RdpView::receivedStandardError: Process error output:  "socket(): Address family not supported by protocol"

I would suggest filing a bug report at bugs.kde.org. Please mention the version of rdesktop in use.
