Hi, I am a recent recruit to the KDE platform, previously running xfce/gnome.
I would like to change my name server settings. I connect to the net with mobile broadband. There is however no ip tab for changing these settings (IPv4) in this part of the control module. Reference is made to the tab in related forum questions but it is not present in my mobile broadband tab. My VPN tab however does give access to the kde dns servers option when changing to "Automatic (vpn) addresses only". Am I missing a package on my install (currently Mint/Ubuntu 10.04) or are the settings located elsewhere? Thank you |

I have an "IP Address" tab on my Mobile Internet connection, where I can specify manual settings if I wish.

Thanks, but not here om mint, on live opensuse 11.3 or on my kubuntu netbook kde install. No ip tab for mobile broadband is present which is very puzzling.
This also came up in the following forum topic, so it must be an issue. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=91153&p=175685&hilit=change+dns#p175685 |

Thank you for the image posting. I didn't doubt that you had the ipv4 settings tab on your trunk installation.
More to the point is that of the three distros that I have mentioned none of them include the said tab. At this point it seems to be a feature that is not included in a default install. Perhaps I am missing a package or the mobile broadband tab no longer includes that functionality. Perhaps I should change the dns settings manually at this point. Time to look for the static file rather than the etc/resolve.conf which I believe is overwritten. |

You will likely recieve the IP tab as I have it in your next distribution iteration, or if you install Trunk packages for Network Management.
