KDE 4.6 rc2 networkmanager problem

Sun Jan 09, 2011 10:53 am
I have this strange behavior of networkmanager. I do not use password in kwallet for auto connection on wifi, but I setup to autoconnect and write pass for wifi in networkmanager settings, this worked in KDE 4.5.4, but now i must write pass every time when sistem starts and do that two times to connect on wifi...

Is this bug or what?

Yes, in fact it is a bug with the Plain Text storage method that you use.
I had it too and I switched temporarily to KWallet until it is fixed.

Is the password dialog you are present with one from KWallet or from Network Management? It could be possible that your KWallet has become corrupted.

Dialog is from Network management, when I use kwallet dialog and safe pass with kwallet, everythyng is just fine, but I do not need kwallet, I just need to connect to wifi without my assistance whenever system boots.

In this case, you need to set an empty password on KWallet, as it is the only option for storing passwords with Network Management I believe.

Yes, I do that, but networkmanager request to confirm pass two times again after system starts... This worked before on KDE 4.5.4, but on KDE 4.6 rc2 do not work...

You should consider to use kde-wicd client, it works good...

This problem is somehow solved...but I hope Netwok Management will work on KDE 4.6 stable.
