On January 10, 2011 images quit loading in my installation of Konqueror 4.5.4 when running on KHTML even though I had the preferences checked to automatically install images. The images still loaded when running in WebKit. The following is my konquerorrc file except for private information.

I would like to know how to repair image loading in Konqueror. The problem remains in my installation of Konqueror 4.5.5 which I downloaded on 1/10/2011. I like to keep KHTML as my default layout engine because the whitelist on adblock doesn't work on Konq-WebKit and a page will not load in a new tab in Konq-WebKit using the HTML TARGET attribute. For now I am using Rekonq 0.6.

Can you reproduce under a new user?

I was unable to set a new password on a new user. However, I was able to get image loading to work again after moving the khtmlrc file to the trash. However, when I turned on the adblock and whitelisted the ads on a site with ads, the ads would not appear. The ads did appear in Konqueror 4.5.4 when I had the site whitelisted. I could file this as a new bug.

Please file a bug as you suggested regarding the whitelisting failure.
