Ok, I messed up when I created the first "blank" slate - I rsynced the ssh folder across and brought known_hosts with it.
So I nuked the home dir and started again - Second time round: 1. copy keys only - chown appropriately 2. cli ssh to host - requested to add key to known_hosts 3. login successfully 4. open dolphin, sftp://user@host:port - got error Nuke home dir, start again - Third time round: 1. copy keys only - chown appropriately 2. open dolphin, sftp://user@host:port - requested to add key to known_hosts 3. login successfully(!) 4. cli ssh to host 5. login successfully 6. re-open dolphin, sftp://user@host:port 7. login successfully So some success, just by switching the order of proceedings around. So I logged into my normal account, * deleted known_hosts altogether * did not register my key with an agent * open dolphin, sftp://user@host:port - requested to add key to known_hosts * logged in successfully * register my key with the agent, reopen dolphin/cli and everything works as expected. Which is a winner, but there is still an issue that the format of the key being inserted into known_hosts by the cli client is different to that put in by kio/dolphin.
Can you recreate this issue? Is it worth a bug report (and who with)? |

It seems that the sftp KIO slave does not support the newer form of encoding known hosts. Please do file a bug report.
