Distribution: Kubuntu 10.10
KDE Version: 4.5.5 --------------------- Hi. I've been using Chrome for quite some time. Now I realize that Kubuntu 10.10 has Rekonq as its KDE's default browser. I've chosen to use Chromium simply because I am used to Chrome, but I'm wondering if there's any compelling reason to try Rekonq instead. Since both are based on WebKit, I assume they don't significantly differ on rendering. Any thoughts? Thanks!

my experience is that chromium renders much faster.

Rekonq renders with KDE widget style some web forms (non-styled).

Rekonq integrates better into kde, shares bookmarks and cooky management with KDE (mostly konqueror) and, well, is a KDE app.
Chrome, on the other hand, has a much faster javascript engine....

I like the look and feel of Rekonq more generally, but there are some pages that is has trouble rendering. I will commonly have a chrome session open if I am using any of these sites. Features like KGet integeration mostly keep me on Rekonq, though.
As good as oxygen-gtk is, no one would call Chrome's look and feel "native" in KDE. |

One reason not to use chromium is that it creates a massive cache in your /home partition. I personally use Konqueror for most things and only use chromium where there is a problem using Konqueror which is not that often.
