Hi,
this is the second thread I open in KDE. A little of history: I am a long-time linux user (since around 1989) and a GNOME user trying to switch to KDE for want of a more configurable desktop. Well, straight to the point. In GNOME, when I use ssh directly in a terminal, or with something like Unison, the first time I use a connection with a public/private keypair listed in my .ssh/config, I have a dialog popping up asking for the passphrase. Next time I use the same connection in the session, the passphrase is not asked anymore. I imagine this is done with some ssh-agent trick. Now, in KDE, I have confimed that ssh-agent is running, but unless I add manually the key with ssh-add, the passphrase is asked again every time. There is an unanswered question about it here: http://superuser.com/questions/232296/h ... untu-10-10 Anyone know how to do it in KDE? Thanks!

Not sure what environment variables you need to export, but the program you need to point them to is probably pinentry-qt. If you are interested in potential KWallet integration, there is an application on kde-look.org (ksshaskpass) which can do this task (it needs environment variables exported at the moment).
