Unable to connect to vpn

Tue Mar 29, 2011 8:42 am
Hi there

Recently I moved all my work from Win7 to Ubuntu 10.10. everything is ok else than VPN. I configured my vpn connection in gnome and I'm running it without any problem. but in kde i can not connect to a vpn connection. I googled around. there are solutions but any of them doesn't work for me.

this is my log:

Code: Select all
Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name NetworkManager[1158]: <warn> VPN plugin failed: 1
Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name avahi-daemon[1161]: Withdrawing workstation service for ppp0.
Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name NetworkManager[1158]:    SCPlugin-Ifupdown: devices removed (path: /sys/devices/virtual/net/ppp0, iface: ppp0)

Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name NetworkManager[1158]: <info> VPN plugin state change reason: 0
Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name NetworkManager[1158]: <warn> error disconnecting VPN: Could not process the request because no VPN connection was active.
Mar 29 13:02:36 soroush-System-Product-Name NetworkManager[1158]: <info> Policy set 'Auto eth1' (eth1) as default for IPv4 routing and DNS.
Mar 29 13:09:01 soroush-System-Product-Name CRON[12249]: (root) CMD (  [ -x /usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime ] && [ -d /var/lib/php5 ] && find /var/lib/php5/ -type f -cmin +$(/usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime) -print0 | xargs -n 200 -r -0 rm)

I also changed contents of /etc/network/interfaces like this:

Code: Select all
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
#auto eth0
#iface eth0 inet dhcp

Ok, in gnome I have to remove my password in connection setting to make it working. (it asks me when i click on connection). but in kde I enter my password in connection setting and it works. :-)
