I have KDE 4.6.1 on Gentoo x86_64...
I've noticed that every time I log in to my google account, konqueror crashes...I've had a number of problems with websites including evite and yahoo, but now it's becoming impossible to even go to a website without a crash or lockup of some sort... ...any ideas?...

Have you tried KDE 4.6.2 or a new user account?

thanks bcooksley, sorry...I meant 4.6.2, not 4.6.1...it now occurs on almost every webpage that I must log into...yahoo as well...konqueror either crashes or freezes...

I was unable to cause Konqueror to crash when logging into my Google Account in it. I suspect your Cookie Jar may be corrupted. Have you tried a new user?

unfortunately, I did log on as another user and the same 'freeze' result...
What happens is that the first few java? windows open, and the progress bar at the bottom of the browser page loads to 100% 2 or 3 times, then on the 3rd or 4th time, it gets stuck between 77% and 83%...which freezes the browser...my mouse and all other functions work properly, but I must click a number of times to close the window... Is there some way to clear the cookies? or cookie jar? or should I re-emerge konqueror? |

copied the backtrace, this time, it said it 'was not useful' but here it is nevertheless...

I should specify that the problems occur on igoogle, google classic presents no problems at all...

The crash/lockup appears to be occuring in KHTML. You will need to install the appropriate debugging information of kdelibs to get a useful backtrace.
Unfortunately however, I was not able to reproduce this (tried 5 times)

I did reinstall kdelibs with debug, so let's see what this provides...it pretty much looks the same to me...

Can you please try to reproduce under a new user? Seems to be crashing on some form of Javascript.

yes, it's crashing trying to load the chat window (javascript, I think) in igoogle...every window takes some time to load, but when it reaches between 80-95% loading chat...either a freeze or crash occurs...
I've been trying to cause a crash with another user, but instead I'm getting a frozen browser and 100% of resources...the freeze occurs every time, though...making KDE virtually unusable... I've just emerged Opera and I'm having none of these problems...I really want to figure this one out...when I get a proper crash...and no freeze, I'll post it... |

I suggest filing a bug report once you can identify which iGoogle widget causes the crash/lockup.

is there any way I can monitor the code or the processes that happen during this lock-up/freeze in Konqueror?
Right now I'm not able to create a crash, only a total freeze and 100% spike in computer usage...then I must click a number of times on the exit button before I get a window that tells me 'Konqueror is not responding do you with to terminate?'... I would like to file a bug, as well... |

Bugs can be filed at bugs.kde.org. Please mention all plugins you have enabled in Konqueror, their versions, your Qt and KDE versions, and the websites which are affected. Please provide specific urls to them, and if they need configuring from their defaults to induce the crash, please provide that information as well.
Information on the version of libpcre you have installed may also help.
