i am using kopete as my standard im. while i was running top, i recognized that kopete had > 600 MB RAM in use. why does kopete need so much memory?

btw: does anyone know the status about the telepathy integration for kopete?

I believe Kopete gradually leaks memory over time. If you have a large number of contacts and conversations, combined with a very long uptime for Kopete, then this could occur. Restarting Kopete should correct the issue.
