future of konq-plugins?

Fri Apr 29, 2011 3:38 pm
Hi all,

I have a question which bothers my sleep: what will happen to the package konq-plugins in the long term? In my distro (Kubuntu Maverick) description of this package it says that
"These plugins are not part of the official KDE Software Compilation, they
are a KDE Extragear software and may get out of sync with Konqueror."
Moreover, apt-get terrorizes me proposing the package for autoremoval.

So, can anyone tell me if there are current or planned alternatives (in Konqueror and/or ReKonq) to _easily_ do the following things, all available via konq-plugins:
-use bookmarklets (MiniTools)
-accept/reject cookies (KHTMLSettings)
-load images (KHTMLSettings)
-change browser ident.
-adblock
-list all links for downloading (Download Manager)
-archive web pages

Last, a very weird thing: file name filtering now needs a separate search bar: in KDE3 it used to be merged with the search bar of konqueror.
Also, it used to be case-insensitive, which made much more sense, and now is case sensitive. Weirdly enough, the FilterField is now in dolphinpart, but the filter in Dolphin _is_ case insensitive.

Thanks a lot!!! >:D
