When I go to 'Software Updates' to update my system I get this error:

Code: Select all
Download (curl) error for 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.4/repo/non-oss/content':
Error code: Connection failed
Error message: Couldn't resolve proxy 'HTTP_PROXY'

The connection is fine. The net is fast as usual.

Also, which repo's do I need to have activated to get updates:

I currently have these ones in the config:

Sorry but I've hit my breaking point:

- This issue, which I found is being discussed here: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get- ... 1-4-a.html

It's been reported as a bug 3 months ago.

- I have intermittent kwin crashes with Nvidia driver which also has been bug reported since 4.6 came out.

- I have mouse tracers at startup.

- Hibernate/Suspend both do not work (freeze and stall).

- Cannot use lancealot gui to restart computer due to graphical glitch in reset button.

I don't want to be a wimp but it's too much more me. More importantly is the fact that I could never use a system this unstable infront of my friends or they'd surely judge Linux for it.

See you next release. ;)

Can you please post the content of both root's and your own environment variables? You can run the command "export" to list the current environment variables. It seems that your system has been unwittingly configured to use a proxy.

Not sure about the Lancelot issue, you might want to check that your system is up to date. What Plasma theme do you use? Does it appear with the default theme?

You might want to Google your make + model of computer to see if any specific workarounds are needed to make suspend function. A system I had once required a change to unload the mouse driver prior to suspending (else the machine would reset when it tried to resume).

I'm so sorry about the delayed response. I thought I had posted this on the SUSE board and when I checked it it wasn't there. I thought it was earased. :<

As of now I"ve installed Charkra and have none of the problems except for the suspend issue which I'll try to look to find the bug report for.

Good call on the changing plasma themes for the lancelot issue. Hadn't thought of that, but will check that first if it happens again.
