Konqueror is my main KDE application but i dont see developers enjoy it very much. I would like to see more updates for this application.
I would like to see the opinion of other users about that with this poll.

Dimitrios, I entirely agree with you. Konqueror development as web browser should continue. It should continue with the KHTML rendering engine as well.

I agree that konqueror will continue amusing us but the slow development of khtml worries me

Having joined the forum newly l will like the konqueror to continue so that l can benefit like others.

I've been using Konqueror since KDE2, both as file manager and web browser. I would really appreciate if it's development continued, no matter which html engine it'll use. I just want it to be better and better

I also would like to see that Konqueror continues to be developed further, as a Webbrowser only. As webbrowser only saves resources. We have Dolphin in KDE, so why do we need a 2nd filebrowser?

I mean, Webkit is a bit better than KHTML, so why wasting resources to get KHTML on the same level, whereas one could just take Webkit and it is fine?

Konqueror is a great browser and I would like to see it improve on the few things where it has drawbacks: Plugins (like Flash) and Javascript. A bit more speed would also be great!

Actually there is no alternative solution except if you use more programs the same time but you loose many features too.

Due of my frustration with Unity I switched to KDE after having tested also Cinnamon, Gnome 3, Unity, XFE, LXDE. My last experience with KDE was 6 or 7 years ago. I am quiet surprised how good KDE is now. The initial impression motivated me to customize things better for my workflow. Having worked for many years with Gnome I am missing several things. One thing is that I can't open boomarks in the Places side-bar (with a right mouse-click) in a new tab. I am so used to do this from Nautilus and couldn't find a way to configure it in Dolphin. There are also some other things which I dislike in Dolphin. For me, Konqueror is working much better. I can create Bookmarks and open those in a new tab. Great - although the combined places and bookmark view of Dolphin is convenient. This little difference made me looking deeper into Konqueror and I got familiar with the plethora of features in one application. There will come a time where people will appreciate more the fact that I must not clutter my desktop with many windows. Konqqueror helps to keep things better organized. Therefore I am voting for the continuation of the Konqueror development.

For years, the one main advantage that KHTML had over QtWebKit was KHTML's spellchecker. However, the new QtWebKit 2.3 which is available in the kde-unstable repository in Chakra Linux and is now standard in Arch Linux has a spellchecker. Therefore, I do not see a need to continue KHTML. I would like to see more Konqueror extensions ported to WebKit such as link following with the CTRL key. Lately, I have taken more of a liking to rekonq because it has link following with the WebKit engine.
