device manager, try hwinfo it displays all but doesn't config anything, in openSuse Yast has some hw modules
slow intenet: - might be iPv6, try disabling run yast -> network devices -> dsl -> edit -> dsl0 -> global options -> uncheck iPv6 -> ok - might be bad dns services, look at file /etc/resolv.conf |

have you tried different browsers?
sounds like bad dns servers (or something else dns related) or maybe ipv6 being enabled (seen posts where it causes problems) ipconfig equivant would be Yast's dsl module (if using ifup, what openSuse calls the traditional method) or KDE's network manager (if enabled it would be in your system tray) there's a program called namebench which will test and determine fastest dns name servers to use http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ |

+1 for namebench. It helped me find an alternative to Comcast's poky DNS servers, and it's made a noticeable difference. |
