Wireless Network Disconnecting While Computer is Idle

Hello. I'm having a minor "problem" in Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.7.1 in which my wireless network connection disconnects from the network when my computer is idle and locked for an extended period of time (1+ hours; it seems to correlate with my monitor shutting itself off). I have a feeling this is related to power management, as it reconnects immediately after I return to my computer and unlock it. I have checked the wireless network settings and power management settings, but I cannot find anything related to the network going on standby after X period of time. Is this normal behavior? If so, is there any way I can disable it so that my wireless network remains connected at all times, regardless of how long I have been away from my computer? That would be nice, as I have Kopete and XChat constantly running, and would like them to remain perpetually connected.

Thanks.

Isn't your computer just suspending?

Actually this is a problem I experience myself, but I don't think it's really related to KDE (I see this with a system-wide NM connection).
