I was looking on-line for a solution and read that Microsoft have made some changes to their servers, and that has broken most of the third party MSN clients, does anybody know how to make Kopete work with this new changes?

Hi
Same problem for me with many MSN accounts (@gmail.com, @yahoo.fr). They don't work any more since few days, and only with Kopete. But I have another account which is still working fine (@hotmail.fr).
So, problem is on MSN-side, or on Kopete-side ?

EDIT : I found the solution ! It's here :

Hey thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I actually compiled Libmsn 4.2 from source and it worked like a charm.

Sources can be downloaded here:

So distros should ship libmsn 4.2 now to get it working again?

Gentoo is still not shipping 4.2 in mainstream portage. Here is a quick and dirty fix that borrows from the KDE overlay without adding the complication of overlays: http://foxpa.ws/2011/11/12/fix-kopete-o ... t-connect/
