The Software Buffer drops to zero and one percent upon burn start up and it never gets above 1% If I try to burn more than one copy I am garenteed that I will burn a coaster on the second burn, if I manage to get through the first burn ok.

I am running 10,10 Ubuntu

Have you verified using other burning software that this is not a hardware fault?
