Hello friends
Videos are running very smoothly in GNOME 3 but not in KDE, i do not wanna use GNOME These are problems while Watching videos in KDE : 1 . Horizontal Lines accross the laptop screen 2. Very chopy video System configuration Intel i5 2.4 Ghz HD 3000 (no nvidia graphic card) Fedora 17 KDE 4.8 version Any Help Thanks |

some additional info may help
- what video player(s)? - what type(s) of video? - if you use the same player as in Gnome does it help? - what output driver are you using (found in the player's preferences) if you disable composting alt+shift+F12 does it help? which Intel drivers? |

Sorry guys , same problem in GNOME
Video Player = VLC Video Type = Movie.avi , size 1.5 GB Output Driver = OpenGL (I tried all) Drivers and Library : xorg-X11-drv-intel-2.19.0.1 libdrm mesa = all packages Please Any suggestion Thankx |

there is a 2.20.x intel driver series see if you you can find and install it
try a different player, sMplayer is also real good do you have this issue with non .avi files? other avi files? if you disable composting alt+shift+F12 does it help? |

Ok now i installed xorg-x11-drv-intel-devel-2.20.5
I already tried smplayer I have same issue with non avi files i also disable composting with alt+shift+F12 Some clarity and smoothness is increased But original problem still persist , Horizontal Lines across the laptop screen on these positions 1. Top 2. Center I do not wanna go to on windows again please help Thank'x |

Sorry guys about this core truth
I am using Linux for 3 years , i think linux is only for security , i mean internet servers,hacking like stuff but it is not suitable for graphics like stuff Only 20 - 25 % persons donates to open source community so How we can expect graphics (pure 3D )from Linux . I am trying to solve this issue for 4 mounths but not succeded . Sorry Linux , now i will have to move on to windows |

Find it strange that others aren't posting this problem as it's not that unusual a hw setup, did you as on Fedora?

Hello sir u can see many posts on intel HD 3000 Horizontal Lines problem on internet in linux , may be it is first topic on this forum Now i did Dual boot linux and windows (Linux for Learning Purposes and Windows for Graphics) Good Bye |
