Advanced screenshot tool

Mon May 13, 2013 3:31 pm
I'm using KDE desktop, the current screenshot tool (KSnapshot) is simple and easy but it's not working for adding notes and highlights.

Is there any advanced screenshot tool supports notes and highlights?

By the way, I found these solutions but they not suitable because:
  • HotShots: absolutely fine but it doesn't support KDE integration.
  • Shutter: Works with Gnome only

To my knowledge, KSnapshot is the only KDE screenshot tool around. What sort of note / highlighting functionality are you after exactly? Perhaps you could add this in using a separate image editing application?

Usually I use noted in many cases (explaining an error, bug... etc) see what HotShot does http://thehive.xbee.net/index.php?modul ... #Snapshots

I need a rapid tool for quick tasks. If I do what you suggest I'll never use KSnapshot or any other screenshot tool because most Graphic editing programs (ex. Gimp) support grabbing screenshots.

you can try kaption or xscreenshot, you'll need to compile and install Kaption,

http://xscreenshot.com/
http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/?content=139302

xscreenshot is the more complete tool, will dock to system tray but is not KDE
