(forgive me if this has been answered 1000 times in the last decade)

I am a serious John Coltrane collector, and I would like to begin really beefing up the metadata on my collection with information from Lewis Porter's "The John Coltrane Reference". I'm talking about exact date of recording, unique session/track identifier as listed in said reference, all musicians on track, etc. Some of this can obviously go into existing tags, but not all of it, particularly the date-based "index numbers" used in this definitive discography. How can I do this? I recognize that this will be a *ton* of work for my quite sizable collection.

Which application are you using for organising your music? KDE has Amarok and Juk as the two music players most often used.
