SoundKonverter : Failed to extract

Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:19 pm
Hello!

I'm trying to rip an audio cd with soundkonverter using a common user account but I get the message: Failed to extract.
I have success using the root account.
The common user belongs to the following groups: disk wheel audio video cdrom plugdev power users.
I'm using slackware64 current.
Any help?

Is your user account able to read/write the optical drive device?
This can be ascertained from the output of the following command:
Code: Select all
ls -lah /dev/scd* /dev/sr* /dev/cdrom* /dev/cdrw*

Please provide the output of "id -Gn" - that output looks consistent with the output I have here.

Okay, so you should have sufficient permissions to directly access the drive. If you run SoundKonverter from a terminal, does it output anything relevant during the attempt to extract sound from the disc?

You may find it helpful to enable all debug areas using "kdebugdialog".
